Bacon & Eggs
October 12, 2024
Welcome to Day 11 of promoting my next release - Time for Love. I’ve been working on this collection for about four years. The romantic collection has twenty short stories - ten about how a couple got engaged and ten about how a couple met. The story I’m going to talk about today is Bacon & Eggs, a short story taking place on Mother’s Day 2008.
Avery has been grieving the loss of her husband for almost eight years. She never expected to find love again. Todd has been grieving the loss of his wife for four years. Through his best friend, he met Avery. She initially taught him how to grieve and later showed him how to love again. They will never forget their first loves, but life goes on. Are they ready to take the next step? You’ll have to read the 6th story in the collection to find out.
How does this story relate to other stories in the gagengirl universe?
Avery’s sister Ella was bridesmaid for a character I created for Make Me a Match. Ella met her future husband because of being in the wedding party.
What can you share about Avery?
Avery became a mom when she was 16. She married her baby’s father after graduating from high school and lost him six years later. It was a slow process, but she learned to live with grief. And then her sister Ella got engaged to her boyfriend. Being in the wedding party changed her life.
And what can you share about Todd?
Todd had been married to his wife for almost three years when she died after giving birth to their second daughter. He met Avery through his best friend Colin, who was dating Avery’s sister. She helped him grieve. They became friends and helped each other with their kids. His friend’s engagement and wedding preparations pushed Todd even closer to Avery and he realized he was moving on.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about this story?
It’s a romance, the story of how Avery and Todd got engaged. It’s a story of love after loss.
Do you know which story you’ll tell us about tomorrow?
Yes. Tomorrow’s story is Falling Leaves.
